Pro-Life Church in Flagrante Delicto

In Ireland, a commission investigating abuse at Catholic-run institutions found the remains of large numbers of babies in underground chambers of a former Catholic home for unwed mothers (here).

Lord Acton said, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” He said this of the Catholic Church, despite the fact that he himself was a devout Catholic. At the time these crimes against illegitimate children and their mothers took place, Ireland was essentially a theocracy run in collaboration with the Church. Such abuse goes far beyond ordinary bounds of corruption – much like raping children.
